Q: Why am I receiving an error message when I transfer my article to JAAD Reviews?
A: If you are experiencing errors transferring your manuscript from JAAD to JAAD Reviews (JDRV) or receiving a message that your account could not be linked, this is often resulting from a discrepancy in details between your JAAD and JDRV accounts.
In order for Editorial Manager to recognize the user is the same, the account details must match. In order to check that they are the same, log into both Editorial Manager accounts and select the dropdown next to your name. Then click ‘Update My Information’ and compare the information between both accounts to ensure it matches.
Q: Can you extend my Transfer Deadline to JAAD Reviews?
A: The editorial office is not able to extend transfer deadlines. If your deadline passes, you can submit your manuscript as a new submission and note in the cover letter that the paper was offered the option to transfer from JAAD with the original JAAD Manuscript ID number.
Q: Is there a Publication Fee if I transfer my manuscript from JAAD to JAAD Reviews?
A: Yes. If your article is accepted, JAAD Reviews assesses Article Publishing Charges (APCs). There are no manuscript submission fees.
JAAD Reviews is an open-access journal that makes all content publicly available without a subscription. APCs help offset the expenses associated with publishing. Should your manuscript be accepted for publication, you will be required to pay a publication fee that covers the cost of publication, but you retain copyright. If the corresponding author is a dues-paying member of the American Academy of Dermatology, a discount will be applied to the publication fee.
Please note that all waiver requests are considered only after peer review is complete and the paper has been accepted for publication.
Q: Can I request publishing fee assistance, discounts, or waivers?
A: There are a number of fee assistance, discount, and waiver options available.
